Keep In Mind That Neither Success Nor Failure Is Ever Final.

"Only if you reach the boundary will the boundary recede before you. And if you don't, if you confine your efforts, the boundary will shrink to accommodate itself to your efforts. And you can only expand your capacities by working to the very limit."
Hugh Nibley

Well, I officially did it this time. Last month I was asked to participate in a half marathon and I immediately responded as arrogantly as usual, “I can do that, sure!” Well little thought went into this decision and I have embarked on a challenge I am mentally prepared for. But, that is not what worries me. You see…the half marathon is Feb. 18th, 2007 in Austin and I have less than one month to prepare. …

I have already increased my running abilities farther than I ever truly desired to but I have much more to do in this short period of time if I am to succeed. Like I said, I am mentally prepared because I truly believe in my minds abilities to overcome many things but I am not so sure my legs are prepared. They will be though. I will be ready and I will conquer. It will be a huge accomplishment to decide and train for a fairly long run that generally takes more than only 2 months to prepare...which is what I am doing. I am excited though. Very excited to challenge myself and see where I stand! Only if you recede the boundary will it recede before you. Once this achievement is conquered I will strive for another challenge in riding my bicycle for the American Diabetes Association in May. I originally wanted to ride a short 20 miles, but was talked into riding 50 miles. I am super excited about this challenge for many reasons. It is an incredible chance to raise awareness of diabetes and funds for a cure. What an awesome cause. The ADA asked me specifically to put together a team to represent the military in this venture due to the lack of military participatoin last year. We have our own websites and a small team established already. I need to put some more efforts in raising funds and get more riders on our team though. I set a team goal of $5,000 and we are a far reach from that goal. But I am confident in doing so. If you would like to donate please go to this web page.
